I think I'm going for the title of longest running thread!!
It's nice here today.

My island is very nice
How can you prefer snow? It's nice to look at but totally impractical
Snow is nice when you don't have owt to do.....but if you've to go to work or have travelled for a run which you can't then do....
It is very wet here too, I think Welsh rain is wetter than the rain everywhere else, even in Delhi in the monsoon...

Stop whinging about the weather; running in the rain (or snow for that matter) is fantastic. So there! I sit beside a golfing nut here at work and you should hear him complain about the rain . That said, to an extent, he's allowed to prattle on as rain and mud don't make for happy clappy golf. They do however make for happy clappy fell running.
If you don't get wet and muddy, you're just not doing it properly.
Hanneke's right though - welsh rain is easily the wettest
Yep, our rain is wettest
Doesn't mean I won't go out and enjoy it Over three hours in it in the Black Mountains on the cross bike last Sunday and another jaunt on said bike and hills planned for tonight

One consequence of the rain has been that a couple of my fell training routes are now unrunnable because of head high bracken. Never has Llanysilio Mountain and Moel Y Gamelin in particular looked so green and verdant, at least if you go up the way i go up. Today I was hacking, tearing and kicking my way thorugh what is normally fast ground.
I'm seriously having to rethink my 1000' rep route which is a cornerstone of my training. It's amazing out there!
