Where to live around W. Yorks

A week after I got my new job in Bingley, my girlfriend has just got one teaching English in Cleckheaton! We’re going to up sticks and move from flat old south Manchester to hilly Yorkshire. We’ve got our eye on Hebden Bridge as it’s not too far away from Rossendale/Burnley where we’re from. And from my point of view it’s a fell running Mecca! There’s also Mytholmroyd and Tod nearby too I guess. Anybody know of any other places that might meet the needs mentioned above? As we’re both first time buyers on teacher’s salaries, it can’t be in too dear an area though. Anybody know any up and coming property hotspots that are good for the fells?!

Allus reckoned Oxenhope'd be good for access t'moors. Might be pricey though...(?)

Agree that one of true fell clubs would be good unless your one of YT's favourites. Calder good, also Tod or bit further towards Silsden/Skipton/Barnoldswick way may one also propose Wharfedale!

Hey Brett, on a completely different topic - are you and Sue going to be in the New Inn Tuesday...? The "normal" Taylor tri-bi-fell-gang will be there celebrating someone's new job (...and last day with current employer... )

Getting this thread back on track...

A G hasn't mentioned my needs! Need to be near Hebden because I'm a bit of a hippy and want to do all the social stuff (poetry readings, books, films, art etc...). Andy isn't going to be leaving Rossendale Harriers but can train with other clubs.

So, does anyone know of cheap (but nice) areas? Also, anyone living in Hebden who could guide me in the above?
