Taking a break from courgettes this year but we are still growing one curcubit in a squash (Uchiki kuri). Seemed to suffer the same fate this year as the courgettes from 2019 i.e. good germination during a warm spring but then subsequent cold and wet have knocked them back and a few have rotted off or been eaten by the slugs. Still have 3 plants hanging in there which will hopefully yield 2 or 3 fruits each.

The courgette mountain is growing fast, today making the second batch of courgette pickle - with home grown onions. I best get downstairs and start chopping as the Missus is waiting to start

No courgettes this year for me I'm afraid.
But the pumpkins are super promising

My courgettes have bolted already. Looks like marrow rum for me!

I'll swap you a jar of our pickle for a bottle of your rum 🤔.

OMG! Nothing changes! Moley still a courgette addict!
I grow Tromboncino squashes these days. Nicer than courgettes and I leave late season ones to grow on for winter storage.

Strewth, you're back 👍. Where have you been?
We did leave one plant and manage to pick a November courgette, but all gone now 🙁.

"In a few years I may swap you a bag of medlars for some walnuts, medlar make yummy jam."

I have just finished bletting my first proper medlar harvest... Watch this space Moley!

Also, my handful of fruit trees from 2013/14 have turned half my garden into a vertible food forest! I planted more and more trees...

That's good to know. We have a new and small medlar tree. I'm now looking forward to yummy jam in a few years' time.
