Courgette glut is underway, there is no hiding from them in the garden this year, warm and damp is great growing weather.
Time to go out and pick another few kilos

I find that the only good use for this prolific but boring vegetable is chutney!

You may have a glut; but I planted 14 seeds, of which 3 germinated, 2 of those died, and the remaining one has just produced its first flowers. Maybe I will get courgettes by the end of August?

Quite right, wonderful veg and I never tire of them. Perhaps I do tire a little by October, I've eaten sacks of them by then.

I wouldn't want to be directly behind you in a race during the courgette season Molehill!

Like Anthony, mine mostly rotted off during the cold wet spell that we had and the 2 that survived got a severe mauling by the slugs. Likewise the squashes though I'm hoping they will be fairly established by the time we go on holiday and fend for themselves.

Picked the first 4 courgettes this morning, going with me in the camper van on my fishing trip of a few days.

Resurecting this old thread reminds me of the fun we used to have on here discussing the important things in life.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.
