    Re: Arthroscopy

3 mile walk on flat, using one crutch for (psychological) support. Now up to 13 mins on exercise bike. Feels ok. No grinding now, but still v tight and sems to 'catch' at times. Is this just because quads aren't strong enough to keep everything in line yet?

Glad to hear about physio Stagger. NHS in Wolves obviously has more money. Post code lottery!

    How are you getting on?

    Re: Arthroscopy

Glad to hear there's others making [some] progress.

I've not run since April. GP said need mri and then arthroscopy but it's taken since then to get an MRI booked (24th Sep).

I'll have to see if their diagnosis is same as my GPs was back in April.

Meanwhile I've put about 2 stone on!!

I didn't realise how much I'd miss running till I couldn't do it!!

    MRI tomorrow, 8.40am.

If it shows I have got a medial meniscus (sp?) tear like everyone says then any arthroscopy should be done by Xmas, apparently.

Just back from Jura mountains in France - great walking (kind of Peak district-y but from a base of 2500 ft) and running would've been even better but had to walk down some of the hills backwards 'cos of the pain!!!!

    Re: Arthroscopy

Ran yesterday. For first time in six months, no grating and grinding.BUT.... not right yet. Only did about mile on grass and very slow, with some stops to give it a rub!

Today it feels a bit swollen but no pain. Will carry on with exercises and exercise bike until see physio again on Thursday. No more running yet I think.

It's a long process, isn't it? Have booked three days in Lakes for end of October. Will I be able to run a bit?

    How's it going Stagger?

    Re: Arthroscopy

Saw the NHS physio last Friday.
What a great girl, went through all manor of test exercises and gave me 3 specifics to do.
She also gave me the green light to road cycle again, but just building up very slowly.

Good to hear your back running Pete, just build up steady.

I am now targeting my come back race as the one in which I got injured. 12 months out.

Are you aiming to beat your own record for the slowest ever crossing of Midgley Moor?

Seriously, it's good to hear you're on the mend Stagger, even if it's a slow process. It'll be great to see you back.

    .
I'll have you know I managed 8 mile on the bike today for my first training since the op.
I will be sub 1hr for the race.

And yes, on the mend nicely thanks

Stagger, I've just read your post on the Top 5 Races thread and can't believe you've put Midgley Moor on it! You're clearly not a chap who bears grudges...
