If you've got kids though there are some sprints and fun races starting at 1pm. Good warm up for their fell races!

Weather bit miserable at the moment but forecast is to get better.

Just posting a response to those on the Kilnsey thread but talking about Hebden.

The U17s run with the seniors over the same course, it's not too long. I know because 2 of mine beat me last year.

The sports on the field are very low key and fun oriented. Not the same as those on the cumbrian or highland games circuits.

Cracking race for the u/17s with a top level field. I was well chuffed with my 8th place and the fact i didnt get Baistowed again.

Why run the u/17s and seniors separate though

i think it was due to the being 17 u17s in the race

Great day out despite the weather. In the end the U17s did run separately due to numbers of both them and seniors. A couple of years ago there were often only 3 or 4 U17s at races such as this.

Junior fell runners topped up their pocket money in the fun races and I won my first ever race. The senior fell runners tug of war team weren't so succesful though!
