I have found with jogging it aggravates my back pain when i stop jogging the back pain stops how much difference would a pair of expensive jogging shoes make is it worth the investment.

Check your running posture and fast. My back went because I was leaning too far back. Are you a heel striker? If so, try leaning forwards and toe striking..it really works!

Work on building your core strength. This supports your back and will enable you to run more efficiently.
Oh and quit jogging and start running.
If you mean by expensive jogging shoes something around £60 then yes you should be paying that much. I bought a pair of cheap Karrimor shoes off the net and after one run in them I started to feel pain. They're rubbish and I think I'd be better running in my ordinary shoes. A proper running specific shop will give you some advice on good shoes although invariably they'll want you to spend.
