I was a bit of an oddball until I was abducted by aliens; but I'm perfectly OK now!

"Ali" of this parish bought one during last winter (Ultegra gruppo) and he's barely been off it all spring. He's currently out of contact ..... enjoying his summer season in the Alps.

Ti indeed, Enigma etape. The ultimate go anywhere do anything all year package. An utterly brilliant ride as well. Seems to tick all the boxes so far.

    QUOTE FROM LOOK WEBSITE:~

INTEGRATED A-STEM & DIRECT DRIVE CONCEPT

For the first time on a road bike, LOOK has completely integrated the stem into the frame design. As well as the aesthetic impact this integration allows us to apply our Direct Drive concept meaning optimising all the cockpit parameters. We achieve this by using a short head tube tapering from 1 ½ " at the bottom to 1 1/8" at the top and removing the spacers.

With this shorter pivot, oversized bearings and a stiffer stem, the whole cockpit is stiffer and more accurate. The A-Stem permits very accurate height and length adjustments without having to add spacers

I think I'll buy a LOOK bike, I've been waiting for someone to optimise all the "cockpit parameters"
    One step beyond.

Surely every bike has 'direct drive' unless the stem hasn't been tightened up and moves independently of the fork steerer?? Glad my next bike will be a nice simple "triple-butted, heat treated steel"
