Ive just started learning about this and i find it the most incredible thought process ever.

It is the most brilliant subject ive ever taken.
Anybody recommend any good reading on the subjectn
The complete works of Aristotle. A good philosophically based novel would be Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged.'

I'm at work and can't view the video but isn't this cave thing all about your ideas of reality and life being totally based on what 'reality' you've been exposed to? The Matrix did it better than Plato with a lot more explosions and slow motion bullet dodging.

Philosophers have posed many questions over the centuries, but I think Boy Wonder has scored a first here.

Not sure about Aristotle, but it doesn't look like Socrates did...

    Most Excellent, Dude!!

Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
    Who was very rarely stable
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table
    David Hume could out consume
    Schopenhauer and Hegel
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel
There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach yer
'Bout the raising of the wrist
    Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed
John Stuart Mill, of his own free will
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill
Plato they say, could stick it away
Half a crate of whiskey every day
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle
Hobbes was fond of his dram
And René Descartes was a drunken fart
    "I drink, therefore I am"
Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed
    A lovely little thinker
But a bugger when he's pissed
