Second triathlon I did in the 80s was a sea swim off Sunderland in May. First time I'd ever swam in open water......what you might term a short learning curb.
Sea swimming is fab.
Sea-swimming is to pool-swimming as fell is to road.
The sea was made for swimming in
Hills and Guinness!

Yikes no (well not that I saw!) I definitely need moral support to deal with those!!!Any of these?
But there were bigish rolling waves that crashed onto the beach. No messing - I dived straight into the first big wave that came my way and was in before Sam.

Swam a couple of weekends ago in Dorset..beautiful, and as I'm normally used to swimming in arctic Welsh water, the south coast water seemed to be the temperature of bath water!
