    New Jacket

I'm looking for a new jacket and I can't decide between the Montaine Litespeed or the Montaine H20?

    Has anyone got the H20?

I bought an H2O the other day but not worn it out and about yet.

Fitwise its a bit closer compared to the other Montane jacket I have, the Featherlight. Longer body as well.

It is incredibly light and has a tiny packed size, don't expect it to be that durable on account of the thin material.

Will maybe be out in it sat or sun, if so I'll report back.

I'm really pleased with my litespeed. definately does as it says - keeps the wind out and although not 100% waterproof it does keep me warm and dry.

I was wearing the Litespeed over a helly (boring old blue I'm afraid) in gales and downpours on Dartmoor on New Year's Eve. I was soaked through but warm.

Has Huwski got an H20 or did I dream it?
Running over the same old ground. What have we found?

I've got both H2O and a Lightspeed. I never use the Lightspeed now. The H2O is waterproof, the Lightspeed isn't. In terms of breathability I don't really notice any difference, I guess the Lightspeed is slightly more breathable fabric but the H2O has got a vent that goes right across the back and under the arms which the Lightspeed doesn't.

I have a Lite Speed, it was good enough for the foul weather that the
Grisedale threw at us this year (Helvellyn, galeforce winds, hail, rain) Great
wind protection, kept me warm, but,as Tom found, I also ended up wet.

Yesterday ran 22 miles in Berghouse paclite extreme, kept me warm
and dry. Horses for courses really, if its going to be really wet and I'm
out a long time then the Berghouse every time but for all the races I did
last year the Lite Speed was just fine.

I've go a Berghaus pac lite jacket, but I prefer something a bit lighter.

A bit big to put in the bum bag
