    Cool What Running Shoes ?

I'm looking for a new pair of shoes, either Salomon Speedcross 2 or Inov8 x-Talon 240's.

What are peoples opinions on the two and which is the better ?

    Any other recommendations welcome !

Why are you looking at the X-Talon 240 ? its a mid rather than a shoe.
If you want a good all round off-road/ fell shoe then Roclite 285, Roclite 315 or Mudroc 270 maybe a better bet than X-Talon 212 as they are more durable.
Hey Im not trying to put you off I just think if you want one shoe to train and race in the X-Talon will be shot very quickly.

The general difference between inov-8's and Salomon is they tend to put stiffners, pillar and post in their shoes whereas we make our shoes very flexible and close to the ground. We are big advocates of "natural running"
As we say " Let the foot control the shoe not the shoe control the foot"

Your best bet is to go to a specialist dealer and try on different makes & styles.
Think what conditions your going to be running in and what terrain.
If you would like any info feel free to PM me.

speedcross 2 he even had to take the footbed out as they have to much cushioning he says you dont get enough contact with the ground

Maybe he should come and talk to us
You can always get away with a poorly fitting top or your shorts working up ya jacksy.
But ya shoes are something that you shouldnt really compromise on.

Hey but then again I dont know what incentives are offered by certain brands to get folks to sign up to "wear" their shoes.....even under duress

I'm planning to use them for a small amount of running, but mostly walking, and thats mountain walking. Need lightness and good ankle support. Would you still advise against the 240 ?

    Support??
Our boots offer ankle "protection" from rock/stones etc but we dont advocate you try and "brace" your ankle.
Were about "natural running" and what we mean by that is letting your feet work as nature intended.
If you feel you want a boot for added "protection" and to keep wet grass at bay then your best bet would be Roclite 288 GTX, its very light, flexible, close to the ground ( our mid cushion) and a sticky rubber roclite sole which is great on wet rock.
You can run in it or use it as a "fast & light" boot ( walk the ups/jog the flat and downs)

    The foot has
    26 Bones
    33 Joints
    107 Ligaments
    19 Muscles & Tendons
Let them work as nature intended.

For more info you could read the "Barefoot" thread.......Oh no

    Re: What Running Shoes ?

Inov-8 insider the x-talon 240 and roclite 288 gtx have the same ankle protection as the roclite 370/390 or softer because of the less weight?
