Having to do Burpees as part of my training sched now.
They are bloody knackering!
I blame my legws/body, too long to hone a good technique :P

i call them bastards instead of burpee's
as you finish the press up and jump up shout "bastard", you'll be surprised at how much it helps to motivate you to carry on!! thou might get a few strange looks!!
pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever.
think I managed 56 in 2 mins in my last fitness test
although these were v basic burpees: there's no press-up as such at the bottom - just down into the squat-thrust and then up into the jump.
adding in the press-up, or a tuck jump at the top, or both (!) turns it into a 'bastardo'
Gonna start these again (for the 5th time, is it now?) in the New Year when I'm back at work getting my early morning runs in.
Tennis elbow now gone and just trying to get rid of this chest thing I've had since XOTF.

Started these again today. Added another stage to it after digging out some old Marines training bumpf (in bold below).I did:Stand
Squat
Squat thrust into press up position
Press up with handclap (handclap optional)
Back to squat
Jump up with tuck (as per a plyometric squat to tuck jump)
Land (soft legs)
Into squat
Stand
Repeat x 100?
10/12/8/7/10...except on the last one, as I got into the last squat before standing to finish, I just fell backwards. My legs just "coonee tak nah moore cap'n!"

Sounds awful softie i'm still waiting for Al Fowler to pull his finger out and show us 300 squats
Luke Appleyard (Wharfedale)- quick on the dissent
I've give up on these bastards
Working on other areas first before coming back to them.
10/12/8/8/12(6/3/3)
I did more than needed for W1D1C3 so D2 today was fairy close to D1 numbers, but with longer rest. Bloody needed it tho', as I was doing the press ups with the hand-clap. Legs didn't fail me, my arms did though. This is the mother of all exercises: hardly a muscle it doesn't work...and it works them all hard!
Failed the pull ups afterwards on the 5th set, which I think was down to the explosive hand-clappy bit in these.
If anyone even makes it to 50 of the full ones, they are truly double 'ard bastards. Respect due.
P.S. This was made all the more difficult, as I was listening to Zane Lowe vs Westwood on R1 on the gym TV. Bloody hilarious. If you're a fan of the Big Dawg, dig it out on iPlayer.

I might try this
Although I always feel like I do the squat jump bit really messily maybe my bad form is just coz I am crap at them and can't control my legs properly??
