Had an interesting experience with that on my driving test. A young woman stepped out in front of me, walked diagonally onto a mini roundabout and stood with her pushchair in the centre. I obviously stopped for her and she dithered for a bit before stepping in front of another car onto the pavement. It was really surreal. As if she had deliberately picked the most difficult place to cross. I can only assume she was having a 'moment' brought on by lack of sleep due to a crying baby or something... We then had a standoff because all cars were stopped and everyone was deferring to the right...great fun under pressure and when you are a novice!
