I ran and ran until my Muscles burned and my veins pumped battery acid, ....And then i ran some more.
There used to be one mate. Great race from People's Hall in Sedbergh. It consisted of an u12, an u14 and an u16 or an u18. Legs got longer from each age group, but all came straight down the face of Winder . I ran it in my Skipton days for the first time and we won (Me, Sam Westcott and James Mountain in the team) Got lots of prizes:vouchers, trophies, medals etc.
I don't know why they stopped it now you come to mention it. Results from that year are on http://www.ukresults.net/2006/helmrelay.html
Up the mighty Wharfedale 'arriers!
I believe that they stopped it as no one else was willing to host.
Problem with such an event is finding clubs that have fell runners in each age group to fit the bill. There's probably only 3 or 4 clubs that could get teams out.
But it may take place as a non title event at the FRA Junior Do next year. So watch for Lecky and see what he sets up - I'm sure he'd be glad to know that there's some interest.
there quite a few clubs know inoo we would probs be able to have 3 teams
