Thanks freckle - you're the second person in a week thats said 'sooo funny' to something I've posted and both times I can't help but wonder whether you were both being slightly sarcastic
That said if not it just goes to show that just by the law of averages if you post enough stupidly inane gibberish, once or twice you'll say something funny (well with the obvious exception of merrylegs that is)
dear stolly...i don't really do sarcastic, think i may be a bit to naive in that area! (honestly, i am...to give you an example of how naive I am I once believed my husband when he told me that there was a chocolate river running through the sweetie factory where he works...this from a relatively intelligent woman)...i like your turn of phrase so please accept it as a compliment

and we run because we like it through the broad bright land
tee hee...the thing is he works on the sugar side not the chocolate side...apparently you can tell who works on what side by how "heavy" they are...sweet=sugar=not so fattening....chocolate=sugar+fat=bit bigger like....
now i don't know if you are ribbing me....
i'll give you the benefit of the doubt with my extraordinary faith in human nature...
ps is he drowning or waving?...there is a poem about that if you want to make an offering to the poetry thread...(Stevie Smith; Not waving but drowning).

i have to nsay back to the original point.....I didnt have a transition just jumped straight into the fells from the track and cross country did nme fine
Trying to plod up hills every day slightly faster than the day before
From my army days in Aldershot there were always good runs over the tanktracks and round Long Valley. Jubilee Hill was a good little climb and you could start with that. Hankley Common, over the hogsback, south of Aldershot was also a good running area from what I can remember.
Running in fell shoes is much better than running in army DMS boots as well
