Thread: Endurance Goals

    Endurance Goals

Reading about all these super endurance feats recently, I've decided I might as well set some goals to achieve some of them in my running lifetime.

Currently I've decided on 3 at the minute, but I'm sure more will be added as I hear about them!

    Current 3 are:

    BG Round
    Ramsay Round
    Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc

Not setting any deadlines to have them completed by.

Just wondering if anyone else has similar goals to these, or different ones?

    Hursty

I think its good to have these kind of goals. I'm of the same opinion that they need to be set if you're ever to acheive them. Only two on my list at the moment:

The Isle of Jura Fell Race
    OMM

No deadline to speak of, but if my mate's partner drops out again next year I might be in there..
the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules.......

I've heard of the Jura race through me friend who's doing it....great race to have under your belt.

The OMM is another for the list I reckon also.

Yeah it looks a good climb! and if I'm fit enough afterwards (or if I don't make it to the end ) then there's always the distillery!

    Definitely...(one day)

    UTMB
    MDS

I'd also like to do GR10 in Pyrenees in mountain marathon style.

Not too keen to do the any of the British rounds yet.

But before any of that, got to get through my first Ultra on the 5th December...

I would say the same, but some work to do yet... I'll probably go for it in 2011.

Count me in for your support mate

What do you fancy after that then ML?

Jura is a belter... the malt that is!

There's so much to choose from...!

Hey IDP, what's the Rigby? It rings a bell but I can't remember it.

Yep, you've picked the same three as me Hursty, and in the same order.
But don't hold your breath I've been considering doing the BG since about 1993.

First I aimed to do it before I was thirty and then forty and now I'll have to settle for doing it before I'm 50.
I really must get my act into gear and start training. Trouble is there are so many other things to do!
I'm gradually ticking things off and the BG is looming on the horizon now.

One thing I would add to the list is to do a complete Lakes Classics series one year.
Hmmm 2010, BG or Lakes Classics, what to do, what to do?
Do what you like, like what you do
