Just had a thought, about 10 years ago the company who my wife worked for bought an old disused church and renovated it for offices. It was pretty cold in the winter so I offered to get up into the loft/roof space and beef up the insulation.

Whilst up there I found a paper that i presumed the sparky's had been reading whilst they were suppose to be working, maybe a sun or a mirror

when i got to the end of the loft I cleared out the papers and took them down stairs only to find it was a local paper from 1871! My wife took it and framed it and is now on the office wall and makes a good talking point.

The sparkys I refer to are the one's who put the new lights in during the renovation. no idea how the old paper got up there.

If I remember correctly Crag side House in Northumberland was the first house to be lit by electric lighting in 1878
