Up here for the week so would be rude not to do it. Just been up in the glorious sunshine this afternoon - no idea what the correct route is, but as long as there's company at the back, who cares :-)
Thanks to the organisers for a great race last night.
Great race and lovely cakes
Indeed, glad you could make it. I missed my time by 59 secs - have to get faster, maybe not eat so much flapjack!!
any news on the blind lady in the road shoes did she make up n back ok hope so
what a VALIANT effort well done!
Rachel McCormack finished in a time of 1 hour, 45 minutes and 50 seconds.
The prizes and trophies had been handed out, results compiled, the marquee had been packed away and the runners had long gone home... but we Amblesiders don't leave anybody behind - nor I guess do any host club! I counted at least seven marshalls, helpers and organisers who stood in the dark and waited at the finish.
The finish tape remained and the stopwatch continued. When Rachel and her entourage of five or six crossed the line we had a couple of bottles of wine, some cakes and energy drinks on hand, not to mention a round of applause which rang out across the darkness of the park.
Why walk when you can run.
Wow, I had no idea, fantastic achievement, well done Rachel, and Ambleside, inspirational.
