    Recommendations for kid's bike

Does anyone have any recommendations for good kid's bikes? My 9 year old has outgrown her trusty Raleigh Gecko and swears blind she doesn't want a new one BUT SHE IS HAVING ONE! I've had a look at the Kona Hula which looks a good bet but would be grateful for any suggestions. Ta.

The Kona will be a good choice. Solid bikes. Owned one for many years and it never let me down, and I was throwing it down Aonach Mor and many other technically demanding trails when I was racing.

Yes it is IslaBikes or Isla Rowntree to give the lovely young lady her correct name. Ex British Ladies Cyclo-Cross champion and twice ladies winner at the 3 Peaks Cyclo-Cross. They are juvenile size ( 3 or 4 size options ) aluminium "cross" bikes fitted with correctly scaled down components. They give the option of a cross bike in winter and with a change of wheels/tyres a 'club' bike in the summer. Plus, if you look after them, Isla will take them back in part exchange for the next size up, as your child grows. I have an old 'bespoke' IslaBike 531 crosser that is still going strong, from back in the day when Isla used to wield a gas torch and fillet braze frames herself.

Isla bikes are beauts, see a few kids going over to Jura on them, but a bit out of my budget ( I don't mean I begrudge spending on bikes but child no. 1 will be up for one soon . Didn't know about the part ex thing though. Cheers.
