    Surrey Hill Races

    Now I'm back in the sunny south, thought these races might be worth a look. Although there's a very interesting Google Earth view of the course, it doesnt point out where the checkpoints are. If anyone's run this before and can give me an idea, I'd be grateful.

    Will be back up North a few times over the summer, hope to see some forumites out and about!

    1 & 12 - 155 484, Monument
    2 & 11 - 151 486, Road, track junction
    3 - 144 463, Path south of farm
    4 - 145 452, track junction
    5 - 138 432, Leith Hill Tower
    6 - 104 429, Holmbury Hill Trig Point
    7 - 083 424, Pitch Hill trig Point
    8 - 104 450, Car park, south side
    9 - 134 447, Road bend meets track
    10 - 137 466, Stile into field
    Third figure is estimated, so approx. If you want I have a copy of the plan I could email to you;
    The long course, 18 miles, covers all the check points
    Course B omits 6, 7 & 8; course C omits 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9.
    I would wonder if the B & C courses would actually qualify as fell races.

    I've done the B course. Nice run but definitely not a fell race.

    I did the C race as my first ever 'fell' race in foot and mouth year - definitely not a fell race, but likewise, a very nice race. I might be tempted to go down and do the A course this year.
