    Re: Garmin Forerunner 305

Sorry if this is a question thats already been covered but It's late and I cant be bothered to search.

I got my 305 and it's great. I expect it to revolutionise my training.
The software that came with it is for Pc's and I have a Mac.
What other packages are there for me to use? Are they free downloads?
Will be getting to grips with it after the marathon but keen to tinker with it for now.

    Cheers

A lot of the time, at least on older versions, the .qed files actually seem to have the same data on them whatever area they cover.

Try copying a .qed file from another area, and renaming it to the same as (apart from the extension obviously) the .qct file you are using for the West Pennine area.

Didn't someone somewhere say that you had to change the file headers with a hex editor to make them work?

bestathlete> I think you can download a Mac version of the Garmin training centre software from the Support section of garmin.com. I haven't tried it yet.

I think that was me in The Old Place. It used to be a way of making the older maps work with the newer software versions.

Yes, it seems 1 region elevation data does for a few regions in the surrounding area. Cant' believe my 2 local hills are right on the edge of both the Western Pennine map and region 8 map!!!

W O W! What a piece of kit. Got Sportstracks and memory maps installed to review stored info and it is amazing. I have used the Nike Bodylink system before but the 305 makes that look prehistoric. What a great tool for reviewing your runs and races, I'm blown away.

Can I assume from all the good stories about these things that I should be getting one?
