    Mulled wine - best recipe

As we now have a mince pies thread, I thought this one should follow.

What's the best way to make it?

Do you use those little tea bags. What about orange juice? Brandy? Port? Sugar? Oranges with our without cloves stuck in them?

I realise this is a bit 'woman's hour' but I'm quite a fan of mulled wine.

    Noel,

Make a few bottles, send me samples and I will let you know!

Someone with the name noel is asking Christmas questions

We made our own a few years ago:

1 bottle of Bulgarian Cab Sauvignon
    1 cup of OJ
1 orange with cloves stuck in
    1 cinnamon stick

Warm it up in a pan
Remove the cinnamon stick after about 10 mins (so it doesn't get to cinnamonnny)
    Serve in a mug
    Drink and repeat

It tastes a bit strong at first, but after the first cupfull, you get used to it

Once I got used to people singing The first Noel to me at school, this name is very handy at Christmas as I get more cards because of it. Anyone who knows me a bit thinks it's funny to send me a card with Noel on it. I'm happy to accept of course.

Thanks for the recipes. I'll give them a whirl.

Anyone else get indigestion from drinking mulled wine? I quite like it but I always find it a bit acidic
