    Good first event?

Hi allThink its about time i bit the bullet and entered an event, any reccommendations for my first one.I think up to about five miles would suit and i dont mind upping and downing! I live in durham so that opens up a few areas to me.The emphasis is definately on friendly and enjoyable over competative.ThanksJonna

    Welcome Jonna.
Just go local. Enjoy the run and attend the prize giving.
Depending on your speed you might even get into conversation on route.

Welcome. Depends how far you're prepared to travel. Best take a look at the Races page on the FRA site - use the filters either for distance (AS, BS or CS if you want something around 5miles) or for area (not much short stuff coming up in Northumberland/Durham, but there are a couple in N Yorks for example). Enjoy it, wherever you choose.

How about 'Clay Bank West' on Sunday 20 November located a few miles south of Stokesley on the northern edge of the North York Moors.

Anything up to 150 people likely to take part of mixed abilities but almost all are friendly.

These races although fairly low key and well organised.

Hmmm I was thinking of it too as my first race but it is listed as "Experience Required" - so just how much experience does one need????
