Anyone doing this classic ?
Anyone doing this classic ?
I'll be there. My first attempt, expecting to take ~2h.
A little. I'm new to fell running and as I live in York those NYM races are the easiest for me to get to.
What do you want to know?
Did a recce over 3/4 of the course last weekend, the going is mostly firm. The scenary is classic north yorkshire moors, with the added bonus of a sea view just before the final descent.
The race takes in three of the area's classic landmarks, High Cliff Nab, Captain Cooks Monument and Roseberry topping
Its my first time in the race, though live locally so know the terrain.
Should be a good one.
Tuffer
Is enjoying the running
Apologies for being the Forum anorak but although the town is spelt Guisborough the moors (and race) are spelt Gisborough.
Although not running this year (25m of Allendale the day before) I ran round it last Friday and can confirm the going underfoot is very very dry an amazing change around from last year when it was mud and swamp from almost start to finish.
Have a good one !
Walshes or Wave Harriers? I'm guessing the former, given recent weather, but would appreciate any local advice.
Same thoughts as me, i'd normally wear my Inov8 trail shoes for this one but.........probably wearing Walshes after todays rain.
I will take both and decide on the day.
There's a mile or two on road & tracks but it gets very muddy and slippy in the woods where its quite steep, and if it continues raining tomorrow it could be fun on the open moor
Hi could anyone tell me if this is entry on the day? Can anyone enter? And is there a time limit? Thanks.
Whay Hey...........Av just become a senior.
Karlos, whats your preferred footwear for this one mate??
