That wonderful little cameo at the end is what made the difference.

The out of form players need resting and give the others a chance.
Its tough to get in to the England team but even tougher to get dropped from it.

Bell finally delivers the goods and the game doesn't really matter as far as the series is concerned. The conditions were a bit more Brit friendly apparently (cold and the ball moved about a bit).

Steve Finn provides the "get out of jail free" for England. Not the first time a bowler has got England out of trouble but usually its with their bowling not their batting.
We just need Petersen to get his mojo back and hope for a better result in the next match. As an ex-bowler myself I'm a big fan of the Finn forward-defensive batting style

Its all looking a bit pear shaped over in New Zealand. Can Ian Bell bat all day? Can Johnny Bairstow step into Pietersen's shoes and knock a century ? As they only got 20 runs between them in the 1st innings then maybe not

I never doubted for a second the lads could pull off a draw A bit of luck was needed on the day and we needed to pull out our secret batting weapon Monty Panesar but we did it. We drew with New Zealand
