Geoff has just been giving the England team a verbal
bashing on TMS. No one in the England team has been
    spared the Yorkshire demigod's anger.
    No country for old men.

Looking at the scoreboard and recent losses over the last 18 months, someone needs to say how it is, and there is few better men than Sir Geoffrey.

Would have loved to see Boycott playing T20, cant remember him ever hitting a six but running between the wickets was his strong point

Yes, he always seemed to get safely to the other end even if his partner didn't!

England did not lose a Test match in which he scored a century and only 20 of his 108 Tests ended in defeat.

His average of 47.72 runs over 193 innings is the highest completed career average among England players since 1970.

    Opening partners[edit]

Such was Boycott's longevity in the game that he had 16 opening partners for England. (Note that the figures in the Innings column below show all his Test Match partnerships with his opening partners (not just his partnerships with them for the first wicket). For example, he did have 46 partnerships with John Edrich but only 35 were opening partnerships).[222][223]

2 balls to survive to a draw but can't just manage it Great innings by Moeen Ali and Jimmy Anderson nearly kept them out. About the only positives in our innings.
