    Alfred Wainwright Books

I'm in a happy mood today as I received 'A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells Book Seven' as a Christmas present from my Dad. Finally after almost a year I now have all seven books in this wonderful set by the late Alfred Wainwright.

These books are my prize possessions.

Anybody else got these little gems?

Yes £44 for the set is good value indeed.
They're normally £12.99 each so times that by 7 for the whole set and it works out at just over £90.

Yes, I've had my full set of AW's for about 40 years ( bought them as a teenager and I've just turned 59 ):-
The 7 'main' lakeland guide books
The Outlying Fells of Lakeland guide book
    Pennine Way Companion guide book
    Coast to Coast guide book
Walks in Limestone Country (3 peaks)
    Howgills guide book
    Bowland Sketchbook
Plus a couple of his Highland sketchbooks

All original publications by Westmorland Gazette.

Plus, I've read Fellhound's copy of the first book that AW wrote ( mid 30's) which was the last one that he had published - A Pennine Journey. If anyone has a secondhand copy at sensible money, I would be interested. AW's 2 week walking route would make a terrific 4 or 5 day bike ride on a cyclo-cross bike or MTB.
