Inov 8 230's or 285's

Just bought the X Talon 212 for fell stuff and I'm now looking to get some different shoes for trails. Wondered whether anyone used the 230's for trails and offroad/non fell running, and if so how do you rate them? I know Inov8 Insider/Inov8 website recommends the 285's for trails but wondered what others think.

I can't get to a shop to try them so would welcome your comments.

I got a pair of 285 recently and think they're great. They feel much lighter, closer to the ground and quicker than 305 or 315
