There's some suggestions it could have been malicous, sad if it was, there's some cretins about in this world.

Was Joan of Arc a welder?

It would explain that accidental stake thing.

Well you're the only welder I know likely to be working at 5am on a Monday morning. Are you going to own up?

Isn't most of The Cutty Sark in storage due to it's refurb? Hope it's ok, There are some utter rotters , cads and bounders , setting fire to the sark , whatever next? York Minster, Windsor Castle. I see a trend here , a small group who have a pathological hatred of historic monuments.

someone has mentioned on the news about some gas cannisters

health and safety , they havnt a clue
surely on such a prestigious project for a couple of grand you could of installed a sprinkler system , its not difficult , a few pipes welded together and a bloody big pond pump.

T'other day i was clearing out the attic when i found a ticket for the Cutty Sark. 75p in 1981. I bet its well over a tenner these days.
Hope they can fix it up again - even if its just so we can look at it and maybe not get aboard any more. Its one of the very best bits of the FLM, second only to Tower Bridge IMHO.

I had the impression the Cutty Sark was from the 16/1700's. 1869?? Not that old really, surely there are a few other boats this old and older?

The one in Bristol is more important isn't it?
Anyway it's only a landmark cos the marathon route passes by!

I think the reason that it's so important is that it was one of the first composite boats and it held/holds? the record for a the fastest time to Australia for a commercial sail boat. 40 something days I believe.

Don't worry. My year 9's have just started to recreate it in Resistant Materials lessons. The thing hasn't a chance of floating.
