    Re: Sabbath

    ooh Top 3 Overrated!
    Beatles (obviously)
er... Genesis and Queen spring readily to mind
and since Dubbintooth had more than 3, I'll add Iron Maiden and Def Leppard

re Zep - everyone's entitled to an opinion of course - I have a few friends (fellow rock fans) who never liked Zep - one who never liked Sabbath :w00t:
tbh I don't listen to Zep much these days (although Babe I'm Gonna Leave You did pop up on my MP3 player this am)
    Sabbath a little bit
the 70's band I still listen to most is ACDC - probably cos their music is so simple that it doesn't date

And I realise I'm having way more than my share here, but I personally find Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen a good matching pair of pretentious poseurs, can find virtually no-one to agree with me though. (not expecting to)

I can definitely go with Pink Floyd being overrated... though I think over-exposure to them, Soft Machine, Barclay James Harvest, etc as a child is largely to blame.

I need to have a word with Brett, it looks like AS, KK or Johnwhatever(or all three!) has hacked in to there forum accounts to be deliberately provocative, who needs to put in a counter argument to statments like that .....)

    Wash your mouth out Daz!!

Iron Maiden! Overrated!! How very dare you!!!

We wouldn't have Slayer, Anthrax, Rage Against the Machine etc. etc. etc. without the Mighty Irons.

    I despair.....

Wrong we wouldn't have rage without bands like minor threat, black flag, SOA, negative approach etc.
Correct on Slayer though, they start out playing covers of maiden of priest.

Don't want to be pedantic, but Maiden are Tom Morello's favourite band...

And I know I'm right about Slayer thanks - been a fan since I saw them at Manchester Apollo in 1988!!

Be pedantic all you want, Rages sound comes from hardcore and hip hop not maiden. Zack is rage, without him they are nothing. Just look at the drivel audioslave put out.

Them being his favourite band means nothing. Beechers bass players favourite band is level 42!
