Andy. Thanks for your offer of help. If you are running a leg it's difficult to help out as the logistics tie you up for quite a bit more than just running. Maybe someone else will step up to offer to Marshall the 'problem' gates.
Good to meet you this weekend on the Fmr coaching course.
Event full up with 110 teams !

Seen a few teams out on leg recce's although after Christmas seems to be when the clubs get out on their Sunday morning course checking forays. The host club are doing leg recce's most Sunday mornings. If anyone is interested in coming along the contact details are on the event website. www.penninebridlewayrelay.co.uk

With the ridiculous moving of the CWR realistically taking the shine of the evnt is it time for the PBR to step up and become the best off road relay in the calender?

I didnt think it was ever a contest, Pennine has always been a far bettter relay than the CVR !!!!! leg 4 on CVR is pretty good, but thats the only leg i'd take across, infact i enjoy Bradford more than CVR, but Pennine every time

Agreed I just meant in terms of prestige and popularity

With the more relaxed mass start times the PBR is at least a relay whereas CWR turns into a series of mass starts

    Re: Pennine Bridleway Relay

The mini mass starts at the 2 last changeovers are only there to ensure that everyone finishes in daylight and so far it's worked out ok. We find that there are usually only a few teams who are set off before their handover. We do though have informal cut off times at the other changeovers if incoming teams are overdue. This ensures that the outgoing teams are not left hanging around and getting cold. We issue them with a new dibber timer chip and send them on their way.The Sportident timing system makes all of this easy and I hate to think of the problems we would have if we had to do the timing longhand. Last year we used a system whereby the times from each changeover are sent back to base by SMS which gives instant results. 112 teams entered now ! Close the gates !

Just one or two stragglers still to enter. We have just about let everyone in who wanted to. Any teams on the 'Waiting list' have been let in. We will be assigning team numbers this weekend so have a look on the event website soon to see what your team number is. If you are unsure please speak to your team captain or the person who entered your team. With multiple teams entered from some clubs it can be confusing. We want to make sure that you collect your correct number at the start of your leg.
