I can understand why, but I think that's one of the problems with us here in GB. We have a young 15 year old girl in Fell running who is Euro U20 Champ and would probably threaten some longstanding senior records such as Rivington.
It comes from within with her, of that I'm sure. She just loves it and she's a smashing kid.

Can't speak for the Chinese girl, but in general I think we have to give juniors their head and and not hold them back, which is what I feel coaches are expected to do.

Excellent race, so near to gold, but good to see someone so happy with Silver:thumbup:

Sailing: Does anyone have a clue how this works? 10 minutes was enough excitement for me and I've no idea what was happening.
Perhaps they should all tow a string of mackerel feathers behind the boats, extra points for fish caught?

Great race by Lizzie, I think she looked strong enough to attack slightly earlier and might just have edged the Gold. A fantastic result either way, well done indeed.

This is all the fun part of the Olympics...understanding what the rules are and how they are applied

Watching the synchronised diving one pair were well out of synch on their way to the water but were in synch when they entered the water and got a good mark

I certainly could but it would take a while. think of it as physical chess on water. Lots of tacticks which will come in to play near the end includeing pushing your rival over the start line to get him disq as they did to Ben years ago which cost him a gold. all part of the rules.

Any point inpaticular you want yo know.

So poor Paula is out - from what I could see she always trained on the very edge.
