Set off beside Alan but soon thought this is too fast for my first 100 so eased right off.
First descent jogged down feeling very relaxed but started feeling an ITB like twinge down from my hip to the knee, could feel it at times on the second climb which was unusual as in the past I've only felt it on downhills/flat.
On the descent to Eskdale checkpoint pain was much worse but was concentrating on my form (this can ease ITB for me) by the time I got to the checkpoint was feeling very queasy with the pain but though just take it easy to Wasdale and see how it feels.
Pain was now constant and on the descent to Wasdale was getting massive waves of nausea/pain so had to walk the road, it was an effort just getting to the checkpoint, no option at all for me to stop there.
At first was disappointed thinking I wasn't able to ignore the pain but a week later no chance of running hip very sore and stiff, realise now it was the adrenaline of the race that made me start and ignore what was an injury that required rest.
One things for sure I want to be on that start line for 2013 this race is fantastic!
