I'm always surprised when people get outraged about broadly superficial changes made to something that remains a great concept and is completely free. The notion of segments, the ability to get ideas about new runs and rides by exploring what people have done and the challenges that strava put out there are three really good ideas which add richness to your training even if some of the layouts have changed.
I love it. I reclaimed a CR the other day and can see the chap in second has been out and tried to get it back. He didn't manage it () but I bet he had a better workout than without strava.
Im quite new to cycling and am not nearly strong enough yet to challenge for any KOMs where there are more than a few people but its great how it gives you a little pat for getting a top three in your own times. This is a great way of charting my own progress.
Right enough of this, off for an early ride to have a crack at a new climb that i saw on strava.
