The forecast is looking rather good ! Really looking forward to this. Nice & steady for me followed by a few ales & my tea in The Buck Inn.

To answer your question Jez, I think I'll be going for X-Talons. The studs will wear down on the road, but what's left shold be good for the moorland sections. What do you think? Really looking forward to this - great route through some beautiful countryside. See you on Saturday!

Definitely Dick, see you there ! Are you guys staying up there again ? I have a 2 night pass, so am making a weekend of it with football being on & it being Fathers Day on the Sunday !

I was thinking, shoe wise, Roclite or Saucony Peregrine. But I haven't done it before, so not sure of the terrain. I must admit X-Talons hadn't entered my thinking. Are there some pretty boggy sections then ?

P.S: I have my map & route description, however, is the route flagged at all Dick ?

There's only one fairly short cross country section, the rest is either on tarmac or good tracks. I'd have thought X-Talons would be a bit OTT - I wore my Crosslites, which were fine.

Ooo-err, how much road are we talking Toreador ? I have an aversion to the stuff.
