When Man United were investing the money they earned from FOOTBALL into expanding their stadium and being shrewd in commercialising their brand image, little scrotey teams all cried about how unfair it was.

Nowadays those same little scrotey teams don't even hide the fact that they wish they'd get bought by a sugar daddy so they can invest money stolen from governments or oil or construction to 'Championship Manager Cheat Mode' their way to being the next Man Shitty or Chelski.

What a hollow way to the top.:thunbdown:

I'd love a sugar daddy to invest pots of money into our club as would fans of every club I suspect. But I'd settle for owners who were prepared to grow the club sustainably so that when we did develop our own players, we either kept them or if we did sell them invested the proceeds back into the club. We don't have that at the moment, which is why we're in a downward spiral.

I couldn't think of anything worse! Who'd want to be totally reliant on an outwardly generous benefactor? Ultimately, the fans end up paying somehow, usually through higher ticket prices. It's a shame that a lot of so called intelligent fans are so short-sighted.

Much better way of running a football club, and the best way to run it this way is through the fans owning the club.

Ken Bates is worse! And maybe you might think the Glazers would be?

A purchase funded by debt and stuck on to the club's Balance Sheet is one of the things I fear with GFH Capital for Leeds although they have denied it. Now that would be even worse than Bates.
