I once got mine down below 40 in a very boring meeting.
56 sitting at my desk, working... and I have a cold...
Normal rhr is 38, I am 44...

Mine's around 45~50 when I wake up and with a rhythm you couldn't dance to!
Wenckebach phenomenon!
Mines 36 usually, it was slightly elevated the other day and rose to 40!
Mine was 34 at the docs last week as she took my blood pressure( I thought it would have shot up(my pulse that is !) as she's pretty fit!
She was concerned and sent me for an ECG(a little worrying at the time) but just had the results and all is normal, I just must be incredibly fit!! ( I wish!!)
That's slightly worrying as mine is 34 also.
Although I once read on runners world website that doctors not used to dealing with athletes often panic if your heart rate is low, and that it's not unknown for athlete's heart rates to dip below 30.
Miguel Indurain apparently had a RHR of 28.
I have to admit I'm scared stiff by the thought of having an ECG.
Do what you like, like what you do
I'm really surprised at the number of people saying below 40 here - I thought that was pretty much the domain of 'elite athletes' (no offence intended! ), I thought anything under 50 indicated an unusually high level of fitness ...
