It's very much a relaxed atmosphere, very christmassy feeling. It's a walkers event as well so you won't be timed out. We started in the early start.
Re Height gain, not much, well no big hills worth worrying about, slightly undulating but on the whole pretty flat. far more x-country than I imagined, though I'd imagine that in a wet year some of the fields would be hard work, it was a lovely crisp sunny winters day when we did it and we finished just as it went dark.
Great race. My wife is doing it if her knee is OK which it seems to be at the moment, it stood up to the Peris so a good test, if I have no game I may end up having a run but doubt I'll be there.
Oh try and get hold of the map before hand. It's a sort of sketch/instructions sheet so quite confusing, but once you've adjusted to it its easy to use and really helpful. Just takes a while.
iain do you think this would be a good training kickstart for a BG attempt next year
im currently up to 50miles a week again but runs only up to about 2 1/2 hrs
50 miles all in one,your nut's daz
well - they were obviously rocket fuel Jamie - you should try some!!!
I like chillies!
Stop worrying J - it's a gentle 50 mile plod round Yorkshire somewhere - Rotherham is in yorkshire isn't it Doubt anyone will be racing it
We'll all tie bits of string to one another then we don't get lost!
Oh ans Iain i had an email from the organiser it seems that all runners will be going at 7 as oppose to being given the option of the 6am start with the walkers - just thought I'd let you know
The maps etc are on the website.
Best start baking now then
