    Ilkley Moor on fire now

Shades of winter hill last year.
    Everywhere is far too dry.

Are, well, I travelled past it on my way to Keighley yesterday.

The dryness is only partially to blame.

Travelling with me was a farmer who's mate was 1 of 5 farmers who used to be allowed to graze sheep on the Ilkey moors.

This is no longer allowed so the bracken dyes and remains there as fuel for the fire instead of being changed in to sheep poo.

Now we see the results. A shame but true.

It now emerges arrests have been made. The guilty people (if proven) should be charged for the cost of the incident.

    More 'pure gold'.
Even I don't know who The Grump is.

So - are you a resident of Ilkley?

Might we bump into each other in Booth's; or have adjacent tables at The Box Tree?
"...as dry as the Atacama desert".

I think we saw the smoke in the distance while driving towards Bingley yesterday. I hope it's under control.

Interesting about the sheep, Stagger - I wasn't aware of this.

    No, but we might.

Not Booths, but you could invite me to the Box Tree
