    50@50 explanation please.

This might just be the goal i'm looking for. I'm presumming the 50@50 is 50 peaks (in 24 hrs) when your 50 years old? I'm currently 48 which would give me two years to prepare for it. I'm not interested in breaking any records I just want a challenge so when i'm 50 I can say i'v done something special. I have just started reading Feet in the clouds saw a picture of fell runners doing 60@60 and I thought i'm 50 in a couple of years.

I know its a lot to ask, but would someone be so kind as to explain the idea? where it should take place? any suggested routes?

You know the rules "Planning and preparation prevents a p**s poor performance".

Thank you in anticipation of your help........Lee

It's an extension of the symmetry of Bob Graham doing 42 at 42.

Here's a link to the stuff I've found out about the tops used in the fifty at fifty rounds so far: http://www.aqvi55.dsl.pipex.com/run/bgr_ext.htm , most had already done a standard BGR prior to their 50 but it doesn't mean that you have to do so.

ydt hadn't, when he did his 50@50. Now he's the only person to have completed a 60@60 .

    Re: 50@50 explanation please.

I'm reading this book and all the threads. I'm considering if two years is enough time to get ready lol. However it's going to give me something to at least drive toward. I need to something with my life and although it's going to be hard, my mind is made up.

Your a determine bunch, I'm ex forces, Infantry, i've done some trogging in the past, i've got guts, zeal, and determination, but you fellrunners are bloody hard.

I have a lot to live up to, wish me luck i'm going to need it.......

I did say most David Waide is the only other to have skipped the basic 42 round.

As training over the next year or two you might like to look at the Over The Hill Challenge Series. The routes can be done at any age but they are aimed at the over 50's with age related first class times. Like the 50@50 you do them any time to suit yourself. Details at:

Good luck ....welcome to a great sport.
