where's harrymoon when you need him? - I bet he'd know if any races of any kind are ever held in Town Park...
The next cross country meeting at Town Park is Sunday January 11th 2009.

This race is part of the North West XC League series and this particular race is organised by Warrington Road Runners.

    Re: Cross Country Season

Idler - I'm in Manor Park - Town Park is right on the limit of my lunchtime range, but I do sometimes edge into it - mostly I'm to be found around Norton Priory/canal/Windmill Hill/Keckwick Brook/Daresbury Firs etc and on clear days I sometimes make the effort to get up to Halton Castle for the mind-boggling view

Sinatra/Average Punter - thanks for that info on the NW XC League - on the WRR website it says:
"Guest runners are allowed to take part but cannot score and are requested not to take a finisher’s ticket and should make themselves known to the host club"

does this mean any old joe-bod (such as myself) could just turn up and take part - or do guests have to be "pre-approved" in some way?

I think you can be invited to run by one of the running clubs.

Daz - I can confirm there is a race in Town Park. Someone knocked the thermostat up and turned all that lovely frost into claggy mud. And what was the point of that 45deg slope near the end of the lap? I mean, it was just followed by a descent. Downright dangerous I thought...

Witton i don't suppose you know if i'm still able to run as a guest in the Mid Lancs League do you. I fancy having a go at Hynburn on Saturday?

In previous years i've just presented myself to Dawn, coughed up my entry and had a run - does the same still apply?
