    Pendle Monster

Starting between 0400-0500 on either Suns 14, 21 or 28, tbc.

    Option 1:

From Downham: Complete Pendle Cloughs course to the CP by the spring before the final descent (CP9?) then pick up the FTOP route from CP1 onwards. After final FTOP climb up Big End, then take the Pendle Cloughs route back into Downham.

    Option 2:

From Barley: Complete FTOP route to top the final FTOP climb up Big End, then pick up Pendle Cloughs route to descend Big End t'other side of the wall (down to CP3?) and continue round Pendle Cloughs course until CP9 (? see Option 1), then take FTOP route past trig and back into Barley.

Both options will probably come in at c27mi with c7800ft of climb.

    Anyone interested?

Hmmm, 50+ views but no takers? Would it help if I nailed some of the details?

Okay, leaning towards option 2, as I think this will be further, but will confirm on MapMyRun later.

Also, should confirm a date later.

Then it wouldn't be much of a monster, more a mouse

More is better, further is better, harder is better, steeper is better

If you can get the map up on here it would help me visualize it a bit better SS, especially if I can port it into MemoryMap?

(This in no way constitutes a definite offer to accompany you )

A MapMyRun summary of the route:

    From Downham (Option A)
    http://www.mapmyrun.com/route/gb/hug...26537909490518
    24.25mi and 3412ft

    From Barley (Option B)

    http://www.mapmyrun.com/route/gb/bar...26537743627816
    22.56mi and 3035ft

Distances are less than planned, probably cutting off more of the route than I thought when bolting them together. Ascent figures can't be right because it's got all the FTOP climbs in if nothing else.

So option B looks tougher, so that's what we'll do.

I'll let you know the date shortly.
