If you turn up without knowing people its best to go on a leg which is in day light and non serious.. the last thing you want is people waiting for you on a tricky night leg..

All very sensible advice, I hadn't thought of many of these things.

Hello,
Definitely good to get out with others on the recces. Once you've done a bit of that then helping people on their attempts is excellent experience as you get to see how the support crew stuff works as well as what you'll have to go through too! I did this with Andy Blackett last weekend and learnt loads.
I'll be running round this weekend if you fancy joining for a bit (maybe able to help get you back from the end of a leg as well). Doing Legs 3 and 4 on Saturday and then 5, 1 and 2 on Sunday in preparation for my attempt on Sunday 3rd June. Feel free to join in on any of that. I'd recommend Legs 5 or 2 to start off with as they're a bit easier and the logistics'll be easiest too.
Andy
P.S. If anyone else fancies coming along this weekend then PM me.
Andy
Many thanks for the offer for the weekend and had it not been Easter weekend, I might have gone for it. Will keep an eye out and see if I can help another time.
