    Headtorch recommendation?

Hello. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent, not too bank-breaking head torch that will allow me to escape the godforsaken road running now the nights are well and truly drawn in? I'm new to the whole thing and a bit clueless. Thanks

To save you wading through all the threads, I'm with Ian. I do no more than potter around on the moors for a few miles & this has been unbeatable for me:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenser-Recha...led+lenser+h7r

Rechargeable, bright, well built, sub £40 & recommended, on here, by somebody who is part of a mountain rescue team (sorry I've forgotten his name).

    Lenser H7R for the win.

    I use http://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/mounta...the-lumenator/

Yes that's right, 50hrs between charging at 200 lumens. You do need somewhere for the battery but to be honest I prefer not carrying the battery on my head and just run with a small back pack. And handy if you ride mtb's as well as run. As a caveat, not so good on road as the light is too much of a flood and you end up blinding other road users.

    Some yobbo no doubt

But yes, being sensible the Lenser is a pretty safe bet. I've a few friends now using it as night running head torches and they are all very happy. I'd not recommend the Alpkit Gamma, everyone I know who used them has upgraded since and glad to do so. No personal use experience admittedly and I'm sure there are some happy owners. They just seem to break or have poor light relative to the Lenser.

Thanks all, and thanks Ian for the offer of head torch runs with dark peak. Sadly I'm in South Derbyshire and don't drive, so I don't think running with dark peak on any sort of regular basis would be feasible

Did you know it has a red light on it? I didn't and during a race on Monday knocked it on to it by mistake..thought I'd broken it..

LED Lenser H7, hands down best headtorch for the cash. Easily adjustable on the run, tremendous beam and comfortable to wear.
