    Carrying a map whilst running.

When i do the LDWA this saturday, im going to have to carry a map as rules - and for when i get lost.

But as im only going to have my 2ltr bumbag with me, i dont know how to carry my map.

So what would you all suggest is the best way to carry it.

    Ta.

Laminate it and hang it round your neck with string.

I'm not sure how big your route is but try and copy it and print on A4 paper, Use both sides if neccessary. stick it in a plastic sleeve or laminate it.
You can write down any important info on it i.e compass bearings. which cp have food/water. A full map is usually a bit bulky and you don't use all of it. If it is cut down make sure you write the grid numbers on it in case you need to call for help.

    Ta.
I have already printed a copy onto an A4 - just im having trouble plotting the route because the route description is so general. Ive managed to plot 6 miles of it to the first checkpoint...but im completely lost once it leaves Witton Park, Blackburn.

Mine got wet in the rain tonight, but I didn't get lost.

Never do when I'm on my own.

I never get lost when I'm on my own. Don't always go the route I planned before I set out.... I just make spur of the moment deviations....
