Seeking advice relating to tendon sheath damage to the tibialis anterior. Following a series of recent running events my running partner has been advised by a sports physio to take a complete break from long distance running, perhaps permamently !!! and to consider putting his leg inot a plaster cast. Can anybody offer any more positive advice or offer a view from personal experience?
Yes buy a foam roller and out the inflammation.

Dave........I have little experience with tib. ant. symptoms but can say that a second opinion from someone recommended as understanding the running teprament is always a good idea.
Given the long-term evidence, we'd all give up tomorrow, but our GP's would end up finding millions later on for our cardiac problems!
I would definately look for some hands on and another bit of advice, if I was your mate.
The race is long and in the end, it's only with yourself.......

I had compartment syndrome to the anterior tibialis...very very painful but it was cured with massage and stretches. I agree. Seek a second opinion from a sports physio.
