Which Down-Jacket

As a follow up to the old which headtorch thread, where the specification was for a really bright light, that lights up everything....I want a really warm jacket, that prevents me from freezing my nads off when its -9 and im stood waiting for my bus.


Im abit of a Mountain Equipment obsessive, and I like the look of the Omega in black.



Money is an obvious one in that they cost an arm and a kidney....but Id rather be penniless and warm.

I've had one of these for four or five winters. Unless Preston has its own micro-climate it should be plenty warm enough

Ah cheers Andy, I spotted that little corker (and its a cheaper option).

What colour do you recommend? And will it prevent my from freezing my nads off?

They're warm Al. I feel the cold but find mine plenty warm enough. I bought black, which is practical

The one down-side (terrible pun ) with a jacket like these is getting feathers on whatever you have on next to it

Certainly sounds like a winner that DT.

Its on webtogs online (used before and good service), might also get some M.E windprove gloves to top it off!

Got to be an Alpkit down jacket, cheaper than the Mountain Equipment jackets and has more fill!

For a jacket to wear on a day to day basis, I would go for an Alpkit Filo. If weight is an issue, A PHD Minim.
