What is all this drivel?

Actors are cattle.

The script writer is king, a good director is (very) important, no great film ever had a lousy DP and a good editor can save a film but cannot turn dross into gold- and if you notice the music it's probably because the movie is dire.

The reason why Citizen Kane is arguably the greatest film ever made in English (I do not wish to side track into Japanese cinema) is because it had brilliant people performing all of the above five roles. As, of course, everybody knows.
