Sorry Tom - should have read the thread a bit more closely. Your post last week "Il be doing it next wednesday" led me to think you'd really done it in 2:42 on Wednesday. If I can do 3:36 in the snow, then a good fellrunner can do it in 2:42 no problem. It shouldn't take a superstar to turn in that sort of time.

Sorry to disappoint Tom but I really did do that time, you can call me what you want. But this sort of running and distance is what I train for.

I was just planning to get round and had a slow start (having found a new Indian Bakery in Keighley and being full of Samosa and Bhaji, it made for some interesting burps) , I wasn't trying to go fast though had a much better run than I was expecting and I could do better especially if I took the faster route through Hardcastle (and didn't stop to talk to Steve B a KCAC member I met walking his dog). Its a good training route with some tough bits but not a mountain course and its all runnable.

As many people can do much better than me especially Compo and his like, I think 3.00 as "elite" class is very generous and perhaps it should be reduced to 2.45 with an option for 2.30 later on in the year if a lot get under it.

Thanks Al, I believe that Antisocial may have on the odd occasion perpetuated a wind up or 2, but PaulS hasn't.

    Re: Calder Valley Round

This a draft list of CVR finishers so far this year (to 2nd April 2010). This is a first shot to give anyone the opportunity to add clubs/make corrections etc. It looks as though one or two others may have done it but not registered either because it was a recce or they are not forumites. Pm me or post on here with any amendments and I'll do a final list in a week or two. Idler I don't seem to have a time for you, hope I did not miss it!!

DRAFT LIST OF 2010 CVR FINISHERS - TO 2nd April 2010

    Elite times are in bold

    • Splatcher - 3-36 - Helsby (3 Jan)
    • Shaun L - 3-36 - Idle AC (3 Jan)
    • Mountain Man - 3-36 - Idle AC (3 Jan)
    • Compo - 2-44 - Holmfirth Harriers (17 Jan)
    • Fnstein - 3-29 - Calder Valley (7 Feb)
    • Spookster 2-59 - unattached (3 Mar)
    • Idler - 3-24 - Helsby (19 Mar)
    • Chris A - 3-24 - unattached (19 Mar)
    • Fnstein - 3-26 Calder Valley (20 Mar)
    • Strider - 3-19 Todmorden Harriers (21 Mar)
    • Brett - 4-00 Keighley & Craven (21 Mar)
    • Antisocial - 4-00 Keighley & Craven (21 Mar)
    • Tim W - 4-00 Keighley & Craven (21 Mar)
    • Pete B - 4-00 Keighley & Craven (21 Mar)
    • Steve B - 4-00 Keighley & Craven (21 Mar)
    • Paul S - 2-46 Keighley & Craven (27 Mar)
    • Strider - 3-04 Todmorden Harirers (28 Mar)
    • Cantona - 2-57 Rossendale Harriers 2 April
    • Splatcher - 2-57 Helsby (2 Apr)
    • Rachel - 3-10 Unattached (2 Apl)
    • Andygib - 3-10 Unattached (2 Apl)
    • John Doe - 3-10 Rossendale Harriers (2 Apl)
    • Flightless Bird - 3-10 Calder Valley (2 Apl)
    • Darth Domain - 3-10 Unattached (2 Apl)
    • Shaun L - 3-10 Idle AC (2 Apl)
    • Phil J - 3-10 Idle AC (2 Apl)
    • Phil R - 3-10 Idle AC (2 Apl)
    • Mountain Man - 3-10 Idle AC (2 Apl)

    So that's:

    28 - finishers (with 6 repeats)
    5 - elite times
    15 - first class
    8 - standard
    6 - most club completions - both Idle AC/Keighley & Craven

Current Record holder - Compo of Holmfirth Harriers in 2-44
    Current Women's record - Rachel in 3-10

That elite time is looking really generous now. I reckon anyone who can finish in the top half of an AL race should be able to crack that.

The record of 2-44 looks like it could be there for the taking - Al F and Turbo!!!! Not too much interest from CVFR and Tod Harriers yet or many women!!
